In the Brooder

Hello! I’m new, my name is Charlotte. I don’t know much about chickens at all, but am completely in love with them. I don’t know the breeds without looking them up or anything extensive.
My and my moms Chicken journey began over a year ago with a chicken crossing the road, literally. Right in front of my car. I barely missed the frightened girl and stopped to call my husband to send our 10 year old son down the road to catch her. My mom lives next door, so we brought the chicken there. Asked our neighbors if they were missing a chicken, posted on a local Facebook site, and no one claimed her. So she, Becky, was the girl who started it all. The very next day my mom and children found another hen roaming wild, her name is Lucy.
Fast forward to now, we have 11 hens and three coops set up, two for roosting and one for acclimating young chickens before introducing them to the flock. I just got done keeping three chicks in a brooder a few days ago at 6 weeks and sent them to my mom to get them ready for outside. Going to get more feed, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get 4 more babies. So I’m keeping back to back babies. It’s so much fun, and stressful at the same time.
I have to say this site has been extremely helpful with so many questions I’ve searched.
So thank you!
