A big Hello to the members of the BYC. Between following this website and reading everything imaginable about chickens for about 8 months now. I told my wife last summer that chickens would be part of the family here on Cape Cod by next summer. Next summer is right upon us. I started construction about 4 weeks ago. I've taken ideas from many of the coops on the site and I'm adding a few ideas of my own to make a happy, comfortable and accessible home for the girls. I had to get going. I had back surgery last week and am limited to carrying 10 pounds for 6 more weeks so taking care of the heavy pieces of the construction had to be done. I look forward to showing all of you the progress when I'm allowed to post the pics on the site. My sweet wife loved the idea of chickens but was skeptical about the coop. I promised she would love it. So far she's not only liking but helping as well.
The knowledge gained by all of you is amazing. I look forward to looking after my girls with your help and guidance.
Thanks to all for being here.
