I’m telling you! It’s so easy and mine turn out great the yolks do NOT break on me. I think it’s the health of your eggs that determine whether they break or not on you . Also making tomato sauce and canning 24 jars. I did chicken broth from old hens two days ago and I have 27 jars from that. Next is applesauce

Non-Chlorinated water, pickling lime, and thats it . I do four tablespoons to a gallon of water
and immerse as many as you can as long as they are under water. Warm not hot water mix lime in and gently add the eggs with bloom in tact. You can’t use store eggs , as it won’t work. The bloom was taken off and stores bleach their eggs to sanitize. These will last 3 years limed by the way!

Hmmmm. I don't have chlorinated water, I have softened well water. I wonder if that makes a difference. I use Mrs. Wages pickling lime, 1 tablespoon per quart of water, same ratio you've given. I leave the bloom on. But the yolks on my eggs break.

I would reccommend more calcium for your hens and red pepper added to their feed! Worth a try! It works for mine. My yolks no longer break

Red pepper flakes and I add bot fly larvae (dried) to my feed as well as they contain alot of calcium. You can also dry their shells and add that to feed for added calcium.
