I may be new to BYC, but I wanted to share my findings. My mom is severely allergic to wheat, so when we got our birds, we decided to feed them an all gluten free diet. I did hours and hours of research, trying to find layer feed, chick starter, and scratch that was completely gluten free. It took a while, and I was getting ready to just make my own feed. But I thankfully found all three.

The layer feed to by New Country Organics. I've been feeding this to my adult hens for about 2 weeks now and they seem to be doing really well. The company seems to also have quite a bit of corn free feeds as well. And the price, I feel, isn't too bad for a 50lb bag, and it ships out pretty fast. However, they only have one option for a gluten free feed. You can find it here: https://www.newcountryorganics.com/layer-feed-wheat-free-soy-free-50-pounds.html

The chick starter is by Pampered Chicken Mama. It's ground very fine, basically a powder. It is a non-medicated feed, and I've had no luck finding a gluten free medicated feed. I've been feeding it to my chicks and ducklings for about 3 weeks now and they absolutely love it, they will even eat it right out of my hand. One down side, to me, is that it is 18% protein. I've found some treats and supplements to help boost the protein content a bit. However, the biggest problem with it is the price. It is very expensive. I paid a little over $50 for a 20lb bag. You can find it here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PP8SWQ3/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=AKBCCDMNODUMT&psc=1

Finally, the scratch feed. It is by Prairie Melody. I only just found this the other day, and received it in today. I gave a little to by hens, and they seemed to enjoy it. It has 18% protein, and it is nonGMO. Although the price could be better, it is not nearly as bad of a price as the chick starter. You can find it here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08794DX2L/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Edit:
I decided to add the supplement I use with the chick starter as well, since it is also gluten free. It is by Farmer's Helper. I originally got it from Tractor Supply, but was able to find it on Amazon as well. It has about 29.64% protein, so I use it as a meal topper. My chicks and ducklings love, and will devour every last morsel they find. You can find it here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0068MXTT8/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?smid=A3TX4YUK2VIRSQ&psc=1

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! I have celiacs and have been having my son deal with all of the feed. Even with being super careful, even just touching wheat products can bother me. 😍
