Buffalo gnats killed 8 of my 5 week old chicks today in less than 6 hours. REALLY. I have owned chickens for 5 years and I had no idea this was possible until it happened to me. They kill them by biting them and they are sometimes inhaled. I had no idea gnats would bite. Please don't let it happen to your birds too. I have a crazy outbreak of gnats at my house and they killed the chicks and are swarming the adults. Please take this seriously. It seems crazy but it's the truth. There are several threads here about it. My ignorance killed my chicks. Wish I had known.
