Hi All,
I have a former goat stall that I am planning to use for my new chicks. I went out today to start cleaning it out and discovered that I had done no cleaning after my goats passed away. The stall has a dirt floor and has old (five years at least) goat manure, hay, shavings on the floor. I am beginning to clean it out, but can my chicks get sick from this? Is there any way of sanitizing it? I'm also going to have the same problem with the pen when I get to it, but I'm hoping that anything that remained outside has decomposed. Will the stall be safe for my chicks? I plan to use deep shavings in the coop. Thanks!
