I have a 1 1/2 year old Nigerian Dairy Doe. She is producing 2 - 2 1/2 quarts a day. She is UTD on worming.

Unfortunatly she keeps getting out of my pen and I am unable to keep her in so she needs to go.

I also have a 5 week old Boer Doeling. It's useless and mean ( in my oppinion) to keep a single, baby goat for my own pleasure so she has to go as well.

how much should i ask?

Around here you would do good to get $75-100 each for them. Look on Craigslist for your area and find some comparison prices. It really varies a lot regionally.

Are your goats registered? What about vaccinations? Is she dehorned? The ND in milk could go for a decent price if she is registered.

The Boer doeling would go for at least $100 around here.

The dairy doe is vaccinated ( for whatever you vac. goats for. . . she came off a dairy farm that kept all kinds of records) she is also dehorned.

the boer is NOT vaccinated or dehorned.

I listed the dairy doe at 100 and the boer at 75. we'll see where that gets me.

Is the Nigerian registered? If so you have her way under priced.

I'm in Georgia...

She is not registered... or she is but we do not have the registration and i can't keep her till we get it from the farm.

They keep getting out of my field and I can't stand the thought of them getting hit by a semi or eaten by something.

I'm just trying to get them into good homes quickly so hopefully my prices are fair.

I got one call from a man wanting them to clear up brush. he didnt seem to care when I said that the Nigi would need to be dried up or milked daily . . . he said she'd be alright. he didnt have any other goats. . . I personally thought that she would not dry up alone and would need to taper off milkings or get an infection or just be in alot of pain.

maybe make a more secure pen..or teach them to be tied..our neighbors along a highway tie theirs, that way they can move them around every day..

unfortuantly we don't have the ability to make the pen more secure. My friends ( who have 50 goats ) have the same setup and never have escapees... however they have 24 acres to our 2 acre pen. Its simple hot wire/tape. Right now they are in my chicken pen/run with a couple of layers. I could try tying them out i guess but how to avoid tangling up...hmmm...

Doelings are going for about $100 where I am but over in Eastern WA they are about $60-$75

Does in milk (unregistered) are $150-$200 here.

I would be all over that Boer baby if i was close, I just LOVE Boers and also have a little guy that could use a friend. Good luck
