Goat Question

My goat had a kid at the beginning of February. He only nursed one side, so the other side stayed full. I'm not positive, but I thought she got pregnant soon after the first kid, which would mean that the next kidding would be soon. Her one udder stayed full until yesterday, when I looked at it, it looked like someone had popped a balloon. Is this normal? I think the body absorbs the milk back after a few weeks, but it's been months and I figured if she was about to kid again soon that the milk would stay and the other side would start filling up, not that she would get rid of the milk. As a side note - I haven't seen any signs of infection or mastitis, and she seems perfectly healthy.

After a side of an udder goes unused, she stops producing. I am betting that he was sneaking some hits off the other side, just not draining it.

Does often dry up on their own before kidding again. So if he isn't nursing now, and she is due to kid, her body stops producing. If he isn't weaned yet, he needs to be. Her body needs to get ready for her next kidding. And since she just had a back to back pregnancy with no break, her body needs all the conditioning help she can get.

If you keep a buck with your doe/s, please separate them. This doe will become pregnant again shortly after she kids this second time. As you can imagine, it is unhealthy for her.

He stopped nursing a few months ago (not sure when exactly). He tries to every once in a while but she kicks him off. Do I need to do anything about this?
She is housed with the buck right now, but we are in the process of building her a pen to separate them. Thank you for the info. Puts my mind at ease that she probably just dried up.
