Ohio law bans the sell of raw milk, but it is legal to buy into a goat share program. For those who don't know about it, a person pays a small monthly or annual fee to help cover the cost of "their" share of a goat. Then they are entitled to the raw milk, since they own a share of the goat. Does anyone know someone (or does it themselves) that does the goat share in Ohio? We've had goats for about 2 years now. We've never bred or milked our goats (they're all dry). We're interested in starting to breed and milk, but we want to see if we even like the milk first. Can anyone help? THANKS!!!

I don't know anyone in OHIO but do know a cowshare/goatshare in BC.

Have you checked weston price listings or realmilk.com

If you want to see what the agreements look like I can email them to you.

You might want to search your area listings with the ADGA or a state dairy goat association to find a local milk producer that will let you try some raw milk first. This way, you'll know if you like it and want to move forward. You can also get one on one advice with the milking operation to make sure that's something you're ready to take on.
