Goat weaning

Hi, I have weaned my two weather's for about a month or so now, and mom still has sort of a bag .Does this ever go completely away? And, I tried to put one of them back in with her yesterday and she would not stop jumping on him (mounting), and then getting a bit aggressive. I am guessing she is in heat. I don't know how to tell. I had to separate again. Will i ever be able to put them all together again?!

What breed are they? I know my saanens always had a big udder even after weaning but a meat breed will probably go down more significantly. Think of it as a woman's chest, after the baby it takes quite a long time for things to settle back down and often the skin remains stretched. I wouldn't be too worried.

I would leave them apart for the time being they will continue to attempt to nurse as long as they are allowed. When does are in heat the vulva area will appear swollen and pinker. A lot of them will yell their heads off and mount as well.

I am guessing she is an Alpine. She was a rescue and the babies were a Surprise! We think they might be part boer. I know nothing about goats lol .vet thinks she might only be about 1 1/2 old now.

If you wanted to keep producing milk keep those babies off of her and milk her. What a lucky find she was!

Lol no I don't want to milk her. We just took her in to be company for our rescued mini pony and because she kept escaping from the guy down the road who buys to slaughter. She must have known! She is still pretty skittish around us even though we care for her. Who knows what her life had been like. She does take treats from us now. One of the kids thinks he is a lap baby! I am hoping pony, mama and kids will all be able to be together in one big pen. Mama and pony were up until she kidded. She loves her pony!
