I have not had chickens since I was a boy. I purchased 26 Rhode Island Reds , and lucky enough to get one Rooster out of the bunch in April 10 2017.
Just checking out Chicken talk about feed and care I stumbled on to BackYardChickens.com
We have 6 cows and growing, 10 horses, 2 bunnies, 12 cats, 2 dogs, a fox snooping around and a lot of coyotes. The dogs keep most of the unwanted away.

We live on a family farm in in Alberta Canada. There are 5 adults and 1 child. All adults work and me and my wife are building the farm up to be self sustaining.
We all have the grace of God in our home and blessed by him with all we have.
The animals on our farm are treated as family including our chickens, we love them, respect them.
I built my own 70 sq foot chicken coop and 400 foot run, the only thing I would have done different is built the coop 3 times bigger.

Glad to meet you Kevin. There is a thread for you "Canadians, check in here." and also I love to recommend the "J'est Another Day in Pair A Dice" thread written by a lovely person in Alberta. She has Chanticleer chickens, ducks, geese, swans, llama, hair sheep, 2 Australian cattle dogs and a husband that can do just about everything.
