anyone else ever have a hen go broody twice in one season? I have an Easter Egger, who went broody for about a month, then churned out like 3 dozen eggs, then is acting broody again. I gently take her out of the nesting box and place her outside to run around with the other hens, but she winds back up in the box within 30 minutes or so.
I thought they only brood once a year?

It is normal. I have had a BC Marans go broody and hatch 2 clutches since April! Some breeds have a tendency to be be very broody throughout their entire life! It can be a constant battle to break their broodiness.

They can often repeat broodiness.
Serial broodies....PITA.
I have one this year that I've had to break 6 times since she hatched in March.
She breaks(I use a wire crate), then lays after another week, lays a 3-6 eggs, then goes broody again. I think she's done now, but not holding my breath.
Doesn't fit with my program, so I have a hatchaholic buddy lined up that's willing to take her.
