What's the best hen ( standard size) to go broody?, I have a buff rock cochin hoping she will.

LF: Buff Orpingtons, Cochin, Light Sussex (they are the ones I've had good experiences with). Bantams: Silkies, Goldtops, Light Sussex, Orpingtons, Wyndottes

Although some breeds may be more susceptible than others to being broody, in all honesty it depends upon the individual bird. My broodiest hen ever was a production red - the sort designed to lay an egg almost every day of the year and never go broody! As with so many things in nature it is impossible to predict - you just have to wait and see.
