Found out by accident my little girls 6wks and 5wks will not go in the coop
unless the light is on. It has warmed up here so dont need the heat lamps
on any more. Do you think I should give the spoiled little brats a night light?

I have a light in my coop that goes on at 6AM and off at 8PM every day.

One hen stays out late as a habit and I think it's because she can see the light from the pop door.

My girls werent used to having an indoor space because they had always been in an open run (i live in southern california where the weather allows this for most of the year). When my husband built me a real coop my girls wouldn't go in. I locked them in for a few nights and they got used to it really fast. Now half of them sleep inside & the other half sleep outside unless its cold, then they all sleep inside.
