Im new to BYC and i to chicken breeding. Ive had hens for eggs for 3years but this is my first go at breeding. Any hints would be helpful. I am also looking for some smooth gold lace polish hens in Ga, Tenn, or Ala.

! Pleased you joined us! I know next to zero about poultry breeding but you might check here https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/14/breeds-genetics-showing

Additionally, you can Craigslist in the three states you mentioned or post your request in the threads for those three states here https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/26/where-am-i-where-are-you

Good luck and happy holidays!!

See about eggs and an incubator, or a few silkie moms. If you get hens, you run the risk of giving a disease to your own chickens. Hatching is more fun, and breeds are easier to come by. After New Years, this site becomes a frenzy of egg auctions. After the holidays, it's kinda boring waiting for spring.

Thanks for the welcome and helpful hints.

Does anyone know where i could find gold-laced polish hens, not chicks though. I am hoping to find some at least 12 weeks old!
Thanks!
