A agree with drumstick. I'm leaning toward male on the closer one in the first pic.

Of my golden laced chicks - in the beginning - the lightest chicks were all roos but it is harder to tell when they start to feather out until that tell tale sound appears in a wierd cock a doodle doo song. In the case of my wyandottes they crowed before any evidence of saddle feathers but their combs were deeper red long before the pullets too - if that helps any.
