Mom just hatched 5 of 6 eggs (the sixth died mid-zip, so I don't think it was her fault). The eggs were from a local breeder -- buff orp, gold star, buff and light sussex, and barred rock.

Question......can you tell which is the gold star and if it's male or female?

I understand the males are white and the females are red. There are two "redish" chicks, one black/yellow, one yellow, and one lighter yellow/maybe whitish. But I have no experience with these breeds. I know the black/yellow one is the barred rock. What about the others??

I would say the darker blond one would be the gold star.

Buff Orps are a lighter color.
Keep in mind, I am no expert! I hope this helps!
