Please help me to understand this...the difference between a Golden Comet and Isa Brown? Are they both a mix of rhode island red? I have two chicks that I was told look like Golden Comets, when I bought them home they had a yellow body and mostly yellow wings, with the wings being white on the end. They also had a brown stripe down the back. They are now 2 and 1/2 weeks old and are feathering reddish. They look almost exactly alike. Do golden comet pullets and cockerels look different as baby chicks? My Isa Browns were completely yellow, wings and all, and they are feathering yellow as well. How would I tell the difference between an isa brown pullet and cockerel?

I am working on posting pictures. Its looking like I cant do it from my phone and my computer is refusing to recognize my device when I try to connect it via usb cord.

Thanks so much, this is my first time with chicks, I've checked out lots of books and I love everything I've learned from this site!

Golden comets, are just red sex links.Isa brown is bred with different white gene hens.Red sex link rooster will be brown on the wings, and back, even black on the wings.Isa brown isn't sex link.It can't ve sexed at birth, and is pronounced as,red, brown, and white.

Also, red sex link rooster is white everywhere else.
My Golden Comets are both white ( but I see the white as more of a pale yellow), and they are feathering brownish red on the wings, neck, tail, pretty much everywhere. If I understand correctly, this means they are probably pullets? Thanks for response.

The one on the far left, I was told it is a Golden Comet. The one to the immediate right I am told is an Isa Red.

This is an up close of the Golden comet. Is her coloring typical of a female? They are all a little over 2 weeks old.
