We bought them when they were 10 months old and they were laying eggs when we got them. We were getting at least a dozen eggs for the first few days. The diet the previous owner had them on was 24% hog feed and soybean meal. They are 11 months old now.
We wanted a natural organic diet so we switched them to natural grains and legumes. (wheat berries, organic popcorn, flax seed, lentils, wheatgerm, oatmeal, spelt berries). When we did that the eggs stopped completely and we haven't had an egg since. We don't want to use oyster shells cause we don't eat anything seafood.
What would you suggest we do differently but still keep an "organic" natural diet? Space is not an issue.
