Golden Cuckoo Marans?

Hey I was curious if you mix a copper maran rooster with a cuckoo maran hen what will I get? I have been told the it will give me a Golden Cuckoo Maran. And I was wondering what are some of your favorite breeds to mix?

You'll get sexlinks.
Barred/Cuckoo males and black females.
You will likely get gold/copper bleed through at the hackles and saddles, but you won't get gold cuckooing. That would be a gold-red barring gene, which you don't have.

Can you tell the difference between male chicks and female chicks with the sex links??

Yes...the point of sex links.

Male chicks will be black downed with a white head dot representing the barring that will come later...so as adults they with that combination will be black and white barred with some copper/gold/red bleed through likely at hackles and saddle.

The girls will be solid black chick down and grow out to be solid black hens, with possibly some gold/copper/red bleed through at the hackles.

But that will work for only the first crossing of the BCM rooster and Cuckoo mother.
