My cousin and i are looking to get a few more baby chicks to add to our flock and i am wondering if anyone knows what the disposition/behavior of these 2 breeds are? The golden laced wyandottes and the light brahmas. They are both beautiful but we do not want aggressive chickens to add in. Also if anyone knows their laying habits? Thanks all..

Golden Laced Wyandottes are friendly, docile, usually do well with others and people.. I think theyre supposed to lay approx. 200 eggs per year.. can sometimes go broody but not as bad as a silkie for example.. also are a dual purpose (can be used for meat and eggs both).. i have 5 goldens and 1 silver.. theyre still babies (over 2 weeks old) but ive done a lot of breed research on them before buying.
ive heard pretty much the same about Brahmas, but they get a lot bigger i believe and maybe higher egg production. Still very friendly, docile, easy going.. and people here on BYC say their brahmas are cuddlers too!

I've had both breeds over the years and they are both fine breeds. Wyandottes are generally docile breeds but I would give the edge to the Brahmas in this regard. I've occasionally had an aggressive Wyandotte (although that is certainly the exception rather than the rule), but I can't ever remember having an aggressive Brahma. My children never had a problem making lap pets out of our Brahmas. In addition, outside of Silkies, Brahmas are probably the quietest chickens that I have ever had.
