Golf ball in nesting box

Yesterday I noticed the golf ball was having straw put around it. Today it was covered with hay. My chicks are 15 weeks old. Does this behavior mean eggs are going to be coming soon? Or can this behavior go on for awhile?

They're probably just exploring the boxes. Eggs generally start to come around the 6-9 month range (give or take a few). Probably just a while longer and you'll have some eggs!
