Just checked on the ladies to make sure they all got in the coop tonight, which they did. As I scanned around with my flashlight, I saw eyes. The first raccoon of the season. Cedar, the dog, alerted and the coon ran back into the woods and by the time I returned with my .22, it was gone. That's okay, I have just the thing for it, and I won't head out there unarmed again.
