Hi guys, this is my first year owning chickens and I love them of course now everyone’s happy that I’m getting eggs but honestly I really got them for pets. I got them this summer and they’ve just all started laying. I have black jersey, giant bird, Thomas rocks and black austrlorps. I love the jersey giants and the black astronauts, but the Plymouth bark rocks are so very friendly. All of them are gentle and nice. I live in northern Michigan they all seem to really like the cold and the snow so far. I have 20 hens and two roosters. I’m keeping an eye on the roosters as one of them just reached adulthood we were fine with one rooster. The other rooster was a surprise, but I can’t bring myself to get rid of him. There has not been any problems yet.
