Good afternoon! I am just beginning to educate myself about keeping chickens and am delighted to have found this forum. I plan to read a lot, ask the occasional question, and hopefully make a few new friends along the way. I live in north-central Alabama, am a soon-to-be retired high school teacher, own a few acres in the country where I keep a small beeyard, some fruit trees, and a garden - chickens just seem to be a natural extension of all of this (besides, my granddaughter saw the movie "Chicken Run" and, well ... you know the rest of THAT story!).
