Good Afternoon from the sunny Lake District, England.
I am fairly new to keeping chickens, but have helped looked after a small flock before.
I got my girls (ex free range organic), and my rooster (school hatching and unwanted - he is Brahma x Pekin) from a UK based rescue (FSFH), at the start of December 2018 after we moved to a house with a small plot of land in October 2018.

We started off with them in an enclosure (6m x 3m), but soon moved to letting them free range most days (neighbour has a dog that gets over excited, so we arrange for days I will keep my chooks in so her dog gets a run!).
They get on happily with my dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs. They all have names....we have; Chickita, Henrietta, Atilla The Hen, Nugget and Cluck Norris.

I am hoping to source some Ayam Cemanis later this year, as I fell in love with them when I was doing some research last year before I got my girls.

My girls aren't laying a lot recently, maybe 1 egg a day between all of them, if we are lucky!

I work at Pets at Home, so luckily I get a discount to help pay for our little zoo...we have 3 dogs, 4 cats, 5 chickens, 2 rabbits, 4 guinea pigs and a hamster!
