Good book for small flocks...

Hi. I just wanted to suggest an enjoyable book written specifically for owners of small flocks. It has some of the basics that you can get from the Storey's guide, includes various egg recipes, and is written like your neighbor wrote it (the neighbor you like...lol), from the owner's perspective of keeping her own small mixed flock. It's called "Keep Chickens! Tending Small Flocks in Cities, Suburbs, and Small Spaces" by Barbara Kilarski. I checked it out from my local library.

I do like that book a lot. It's in my personal library, however, somewhere in there she says to use cedar shavings, a no-no for chickens. I like the writing style, very easy to read.

I like it too, for its very enthusiastic and supportive style. It is an EXCELLENT book if you ever need something to hand to a doubtful spouse

It is rather short on actual information though.
