good breeds

I currently have 2RIR and 2BSL...they are hardy and great layers but i was looking for something with a little more "personality." My birds are nice but there not the most social and are flighty....probably because of nieghborhood dogs...haha. They will take treats from your hand but don't like to be held. I'm looking for an ideal lap chicken

. What are some breeds that are friendly, social with people, and tolerate children. Color and good laying abilities are a bonus!
