Hi,

Getting ready for winter up here in Vermont and I am setting up a mini greenhouse of grasses for the chickens to graze during the snowy months. Any suggestions on good types to plant? They don't like clover oddly enough.

Thanks.
Michelle

I usually feed wheat grass in the winter, since I also sprout. Sometimes oat grass, too. I also sprout and grow a little alfalfa. If you can grow some kale for them, that would be really good for them, too. Or any other dark leafy greens that will take the winter temps in the greenhouse. They didn't like any of it when I first gave it to them, but now they are very enthusiastic when I put it in the coop.

Get some Oats Hay and just throw it on the ground and it wil spout out ... my chickens love that stuff!
