ok. i have been bitten by the silkie bug. i would like to buy a trio or duo apa standard show quality consider any apa color. so, who would you buy from and how much would i expect to pay. i have seen prices around $200 for a single pullet. is that a average price or high/low? i also want the birds to be NPIP. any suggestions, comments.......

thank you, cray

You could get 10 babies from good show bloodline shipped to you for that. If you could get some close to you where you could pick them up you could save about $50. Where do you live? You could get with a breeder that is going to a show near you and they'll bring them to you. You could look on the for sale list on here and might run across some that live close. You could hatch some eggs cheeper if they hatch. Off hand Seriously silkies is the closest I know to you I Ill. They sale chicks I don't know about eggs.
If there is a way there is a will. Good luck

Most breeders I know sell pet quality chicks for $10-15. For one who has all the right stuff and potential, it seems to be quite a bit more--$25-75, depending on the breeder. This is for very young, started birds. I don't sell birds that young, except for pet quality ones.

I live in Bergman, Arkansas. I just don't want to end up with some mixed up stuff. I am not saying I will ever do anything that just love on them but if my daughter takes a interest, I would like her to be able to show. She has stated a interest but never done anything other than feed/water/collect eggs. lol I don't mind driving a few hours either (less than 5 one way).
