My name is Carolyn, CJ, for short. I'm very pleased to meet you all!
My husband of 42 years and I just moved from Long Island to Factoryville, PA. We are loving our beautiful country life! Quite the shock, let me tell ya!
Ok, enough jabbering about us...we're here about the chicks!
Though I spent most summers on my Aunt Ruby's farm while growing up, when she passed we missed those wonderful experiences, especially with the chickens! So, while I have long experience with the lil critters, my memory hasn't kept my up to date!
Since BigDaddy doesn't haven't any experience with chickens, we are starting out with 2 this year.
On the recommendation of my extremely cool and experienced landlady/friend, I chose Buff Orpingtons. Their names are Buffy and Cordelia.
BigDaddy and I are both retired/disabled. As I mentioned, we've been married for 42 years and have and as most 40 year old son and almost 38 year old daughter. Our son has a beautiful 13 year old and our daughter has a gorgeous 17 year old daughter and a handsome, precious 5 year old son.
The love of our lives, besides our beautiful children and grandchildren, is our 6 1/2 year old Buff American Cocker Spaniel, Penny Mae. She is just the sweetest, most gentle, darling lil girly ever!
We are so looking forward to doing plenty of planting and adding to our critter collection as we move forward! We are loving PA and country life!
