New to the site and just thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Andrew, I live in southeast Louisiana, and have had chickens for just under a year now. I started out with a handful of straight run birds (about 6) and have steadily added more throughout the last year. A few of the additions were due to raccoons and hawks, but my most recent addition was because of Coccidiosis. This was my first run in with the sickness and it took some time to identify exactly what was wrong. With the help of this site and a few other flock owners, I have been able to successfully treat the flock and the birds are on the mend! I currently have 29 in the flock, 24 are standard pullets and the rest are grown and laying daily. I look forward to learning more about raising chickens and welcome any feedback I can get on future topics. Thanks!

Haha yeah, well with the recent sickness I was preparing for a culling if I couldn't get things sorted out. It was BOGO at the feed store so ‍♂️ haha
Hello, Andrew, and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
That is a lot of flock growing for your first year. Sounds like you graduated Summa Cum Laude from Chicken Math class.

BOGO's and chicks are a dangerous combination.
