What is a good price for chicks? I haven't bought any for a few years, and one of my hens just came back from the woods with 10 chicks. I don't really need any more chickens so I want to sell them, but I would like to hear what others think is a good price to sell chicks

I have seen them for 3$ and up just hatched the longer you keep them the more you can charge for them because they become sexable the older they get. Up here any more than 4 week old will go for 8 to 10$ since you can start sexing them then.

I've seen anywhere from 2 to over 20. What breed are they?

They are mutts

. The broody was a game hen, the father was either gameXwhite leghorn or gameXrir. I think my buff orp hen layed a few eggs in the nest too. I thought the hen got killed because she dissappeared, and she always flew in the front yard. Then Sunday I see her fly over the fence and little chicks running and following her.

So $2- $3 would be reasonable to ask? I think I might try $3 and if they don't sell, then I'll do $2.

Yes that sounds very reasonable.

Ok thanks Kevin565 and LilyD

I'm going to make some chick fliers for the feed stores. I had to downsize my flock to help with the feed bill a week ago, and then the lost hen with 10 chicks shows up

Craigslist is also a good resource. The farm and Garden section will probably get you the most responses.

Send that broody over here! I've been looking for a nice broody game hen, she sounds like a winner, and low maintainance to boot!
