Mods: Feel free to move if this is in the wrong place...
Here's a local (if you're in the Louisville or South. Indiana area) online auction site that I sometimes buy "junk" from for my coop (got such a cute ceramic rooster clock about a month back). The site has nothing to do with chickens, lol.
It's usually a lot of restaurant related stuff, and sometimes estate stuff. But a lot of times they have various building materials. And many times I see things and think "Wow! That would make a great brooder/little coop/nest box, etc.!" A lot of stuff starts at a dollar, but nicer stuff starts higher. Most things sell really cheap - some things don't even get bid on. Some stuff is junk - other stuff is pretty nice. The first item on this month's auction is actually a long, narrow wood and glass display case with access from sliding doors in the back. It would make a perfect chick brooder!!
Anyhow, here's the link if you want to check it out to see if there's anything you could get creative with: http://www.ptpauctions.com/cgi-bin/mndetails.cgi?porter6
ETA: Oh, and forgot this - they had one plastic and one stn. steel deep sinks this time too - thought about those for folks who do meatie processing. I almost bid on an old washer they had a month or two back - thought of trying to make my own plucker...lol.
