Good, tough birds to pair with guineas.

We just took in 3 6 month old guineas, one male and two ladies. We would like to get other egg laying birds but know that they were bullying chickens at their previous home. Is there a bird (duck, chicken, etc.) that lays eggs well enough but will be tough enough to not get bullied?

Separate pens may be in order. 'Bully' Guinea fowl tend to work as a unit targeting one bird at a time. When their goal has been achieved they then pick another target.

Guineas usually pick on weaker birds so if you get some strong , healthy adult hens/ducks their should be no problem

so, that said, you wouldn't suggest one duck/chicken breed over another?

Not really. I have cherry valley,call, Indian runners and Cayuga ducks. Then for chickens I have Sussex, welsummers, ko shamo, Wilkie, brown sex links, legbars, and other hybrids so no not really.
