We are going to get rid of our Cornish X, Mango.

He is getting too protective of food and when we try to catch him he fluffs up his neck feathers defensively. He is also pecking the other chicks feet and backs. He is triple their size and has to go!

I am hoping to trade him with a friend for a pullet or two. (or 3)
Not sure what breed he has. He bought a bunch of cornish X chicks (12 or so) and ended up with only 2 being cornish X... the others were some other white chicken. They are a week or so older than our pullets.

I know that everyone preaches quarantine... and I am wondering how far away they have to be from my chickens.
sigh... not sure if I can really quarantine them from mine.

I figure I can dust them and try to keep them separate. We will definitely have to work with them to not be afraid of us.

And in all fairness, I have not heard back from my friend.. so I hope he is still up for the trade. I will post back as this develops.

That would be a GREAT DEAL to get 2 or 3 pullets for a Rooster!

lol. I bet he weighs as much as 2 or 3 pullets.

Of course, I am willing to pay for the extra pullets.
