So I acquired two lovely EEs to go in with my Welsummers. The adjusted well- started laying immediately.
Now- for some strange reason- one of the EEs decided she wanted nothing to do with the other birds. She's been sleeping in the barn on an 8ft high shelf for about a week. During the day she free-ranges around the barn away from the other birds. I got up this morning around 4 when it was still extremely dark, only to find her roaming around the yard in the rain.

What's gotten into her? I've never had another hen act like this.

She's eating & pooping normal. She goes to bed at dusk, but gets up really early. The other one is still hanging out with the wellies, but laying eggs in the ameraucana coop. Everybody that isn't hiding eggs wants to lay there now because there is a broody

That is weird. Sounds like she is a loner. Do you have a roo? Sometimes when I have an adventurous one, my roo goes over, drops a wing and scoops her back with the rest of the hens. He doesn't let anyone stray too far.

Yes- she was in with 2 wellie roos that are very gentle. When I got them she had a naked back, but her feathers are starting to come in now. The ameraucana coop is free-ranging at the same time, but the wellies never let those roos by her. Since she's become a recluse, none of them come near her at all. I though maybe she was getting broody, but I haven't found a nest or anything. Plus she's wandering all day.
