I need to build a coop for ducks and geese. They are too big for the brooder. We need to build a coop asap. I have chickens, but I realize that they have very different housing requirements. I was looking through some coop pictures on Google and I really like one... It was triangular shaped & so was the run I will try to post a picture of it later. I just don't know if it would work for them or not.

They just need a sheltered section of a run really, you don't have to build a front. I would suggest putting a floor with some hay in there so they can arrange a nest and lay eggs later. If you do a box shaped tractor run, you can put an automatic gravity fed watered like a little giant in there which will help keep your water duty down. Build it big enough... geese like to flap their wings and depending on the breed the span could be up to 7 feet. A 4x8 would be simple and manageable for a small flock of 4 or 5. A tractor is really the ideal way of keeping their messy habits as minimal as possible. An ideal tractor would only take 7 or 8 2x4s and be finished in a day.
