Goose eggs in Alaska????

Does anyone have any fertilized goose eggs in Alaska they would be interesting in selling? Please let me know.

Have you tried Ebay, or posted a wanted ad down in the auction section for hatching eggs? Many people have had success with shipped goose eggs, as long as you follow the instructions on incubating them correctly. Then you would have a larger variety of breeds to choose from!

I purchased goose eggs from ebay, and they all reached me completely intact . .. whether they are fertile or not, I won't know for another week though . . .

I live about 300 plus miles from Anchorage. Even when you order using express mail... mail sometimes comes on a truck that is unheated. There is no guarantee that it won't come by truck instead of plane. I've ordered before and lost eggs because they froze. : ( If I found some in state I can arrange for transportation. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Ah, that makes sense. Too bad geese don't lay closer to the summer -- that would probably help! Hope you can find some eggs . . .

I see you have Welsh Harlequin ducks. I have runners. If I didn't live in town I would get some Welsh Harlequins ... they are so pretty. I think I have my limit for in town though. : (

Oh, I love the Welshies -- not too attached to the drake -- he may go this summer if I hatch/find another drake -- but the girls are fun to watch and lay an enormous amount of eggs. I'm actually getting rid of most of the chickens to remodel the chicken house, and their egglaying matters a lot less since I have the ducks.

Runners are sure fun . . . they seem like they would do well in town, and their funny walk would make the neighbors amused. It is nice you can have ducks in town -- here everyone is allowing chickens, but ducks are sort of a grey area. Probably because the girls do have that QUACK! I'm glad we live on acreage so I can have whatever I want . . . as long as the family is okay with it.
