Goose eggs?

Ok, so I found four goose eggs submerged in water in a pond near my house and I used to see the parents every day but then they stopped coming so I picked up the eggs and I am currently attempting to care for and incubate them. I have a few questions.

1. I don't know how old the eggs are and how long they were in the water for but I candled them and one was very dark and did not look like a regular yolk. I didn't see any veins, however. Not yet at least. How will I know if they are fertile or not? Also, when I tried the water floating method, they just sank.

2. I made a makeshift incubator. It is made out of cardboard and is lined with tin foil to reflect the heat. I am using a 9W light bulb currently but I am getting a 75 and a 25w dropped off soon. I also have three mason jars filled with hot water to keep the box somewhat humid. What lightbulb should I use, and do you have any other tips for incubation? Should I use a different material instead of cardboard? I don't want it to catch fire, but I don't have anything else.

The current humidity is 48% and the temp is 83 F

You don’t know much about incubating but If the eggs were in the water for longer then a day then I’m not sure they could make it

Ya, I really don't. That's a shame. They probably didn't make it. You're right, but I think I'm going to try a little longer and see if anything happens.

Yep! I would try a bit longer. Also since I’m not an expert I would wait for more responses

I wouldn't hold much hope... Incubating temperature for goose eggs needs to be around 99 degrees. If you want to keep trying, styrofoam would be a much better choice for good insulation.

I will try to find a styrofoam box, but I think you guys are right. They probably didn't make it. One of the eggs, however, has an abnormally shaped yolk. I don't know if this means anything but I think I'm going to wait another week and candle them some more.
