Goose has moved her own nest

My goose has moved her whole nest and all the eggs from inside the shed and she is now sat outdoors, in the middle of the pen.
Can anybody tell me the reason for this and I’m worried she is now exposed to the elements . Thanks

Something has made her feel her nest was in an unsafe place. Did you change anything inside the shed? Are other animals bothering her? Could it be rats?

Hi, thanks for the reply. We do have rats which we are constantly trying to get rid of! So yes that is very possible, I just couldn’t understand how being outside is any safer?

It probably isn't - but the goose feels that it's safer, at least safer from the rats. Rats love eggs, and they can be quite aggressive towards a nesting goose. They may even bite her. So if you have a rat problem, her moving the nest makes good sense.
