goose pairs question

When geese are sold as a pair, are those two from different parents (or are they supposed to be and you hope they really are)?

oo that depends on who you get them from. Me myself would not sell related pairs but some people do and that will lead to inbreeding. and sometimes when you get "pairs", you will get 2 males or 2 females. do your homework on this one!

So, ordering them from a hatchery when I order chicks may not be the best idea. Probably would be better to get them from someone reputable like Holderread's, huh?

im not sure about hatcheries. they prolly have so many blood lines that it would be ok. I would call them and ask them where they get their eggs and if you ordered from them if they would be unrelated pairs....
