One of our buff geese i noticed has a bump on one side and seems to be swollen on the other side? He's his usual self otherwise but had trouble drinking tonight i noticed because he couldn't open his mouth. Any idea what could be wrong?

No idea if it's the problem, but around here when a goose swells up like that I check for a tick near the swelling. Once the tick is removed the swelling usually takes a couple days to go down. If I don't catch the swelling right away and the tick stays on for longer my geese will start acting disoriented and have trouble standing. It's scary what one tick can do to a big bird like that.

Thank you! Thought it was a bit early for ticks but those buggers are full of surprises. Goose seems okay now, we looked for a half hour and couldn't figure out the issue but goose is okay now and eating/drinking fine
