I'm wondering if any of you out there have had issues with getting your geese to listen to you. My goose is almost 2 months old and follows me everywhere. Even when I'm getting in my car to leave, which is alarming to me and I don't want her to get hurt. She knows her name, but she doesn't obey very well. I'm hoping some of you out there can give me tips on getting her to behave and listen to what I tell her. Kind of the same way you would train a dog to listen I guess. I don't care about teaching her tricks or anything, I just want her to know and obey the normal commands like stay, come, ect. She knows what no means, and listens most of the time, but she likes to test me. Any advice on training my goose? I think the two commands I want her to know/obey the most are stay and hush. She's a talker.

I should probably add that she is a house goose, but she spends a good bit of time outside in her pen.

I'll say right off you need to put her up when your leaving in your car or about to, I knew someone that accidently ran over their goose because she didn't put her up away before driving out. getting her to stay or hush will probably not be in her vocabulary.

Yea, she's normally in the pen whenever I leave, but she likes to be out in the yard playing with the kittens and I feel bad putting her up. Safety first though. I've been told laying her on her back will calm and quiet her some, so I tried that but she freaks out and flips herself back over

Most likely if you had started this when she was young it would have worked. Your seeing an adolescent goose that is acting like a 2 year old. and geese are moody and can be cranky not the best for indoor pets.

She's actually great in the house with me. Other than being so talkative lol. I would just like for her to listen a little better and I'm trying to find out how people get their geese to obey. I guess the "hush" command is out of the question

I'd say so geese are so opinionated most of the time you can't get a word in edgewise.

Yea, she is definitely a spoiled little mama's girl. I blame myself for not being stricter when she was smaller, but I mean come on, look at this little fluff ball. How could I resist?
