Goose tried to drown a duck. Should I be worried?

To be fair to the goose, this was an aggravated assault..
I was watching from outside the fence, they were all in the pond, one of my 2 month old Anconas took a nip at one of the 6(ish) week old emden geese. (I have 2 geese)
Honestly I’m kinda impressed it managed to pick the offender out of the now scrambling crowd, grabbed it by the back of its neck and proceeded to hold it under the water as punishment. I ran in there and diffused the situation.. but I can see it being able to drown one of the ducks no problem.
They’ve all gotten along for the most part, besides a few occasional nips at each other. They all eat and sleep and forage as a group perfectly fine.
Is this a pecking order type thing? Will they sort it out? Kinda like “HEY DUCK DONT F WITH ME!”
Am I just needlessly and motherishly posting here lol? (Admittedly, and unexpectedly, the geese are far and above my favorite flock “children” at this point)
-first year as a flock owner btw. ;)

Hopefully they learn to get along well soon. Good luck.:fl

My ducks and geese do not get in the large pool I have for them together. If my geese want in the pool anyone else in there gets out right away. Hopefully your duck has learned it's lesson you don't pick on those bigger than you are. Geese can and will drown a duck but hopefully this was only a warning and that's it. Now during breeding season I have 1 Muscovy female that will stay in the pool when the geese get in[she is nuts] and if he has opportunity my gander will breed with her but in the 6 yrs she has been here they haven't drowned her. Thank goodness. I use to go out and make her get out but I finally quit doing that.

They can and will drown ducks, but mine never have and from all that I have heard they rarely do. It's actually more common in kiddie pools because they are trapped between the goose and the bottom. I have 13 geese and 34 (7 very fresh) ducks.

On Saturday I witnessed a disturbing event that included three ducks and a goose in Westminster MA. I was enjoying lunch with my family when out of nowhere we noticed that two ducks and a goose were drowning a duck. Not exactly knowing what to do I took up battle with one of the geese and freed up the duck but several moments later the duck swam back in water and the two ducks and another culprit were trying to drown the duck and pushed his feathered ass right over the waterfall luckily for the Feathered creature he did not perish in the fall and found the strength to survive so I picked that bird up brought him out into the woods gave him a second chance what this has to do with your duck being dead. I don't know but I was witness as well as a bunch of kids one upset mother and a half ass chef the murdering of another duck
