To be fair to the goose, this was an aggravated assault..
I was watching from outside the fence, they were all in the pond, one of my 2 month old Anconas took a nip at one of the 6(ish) week old emden geese. (I have 2 geese)
Honestly I’m kinda impressed it managed to pick the offender out of the now scrambling crowd, grabbed it by the back of its neck and proceeded to hold it under the water as punishment. I ran in there and diffused the situation.. but I can see it being able to drown one of the ducks no problem.
They’ve all gotten along for the most part, besides a few occasional nips at each other. They all eat and sleep and forage as a group perfectly fine.
Is this a pecking order type thing? Will they sort it out? Kinda like “HEY DUCK DONT F WITH ME!”
Am I just needlessly and motherishly posting here lol? (Admittedly, and unexpectedly, the geese are far and above my favorite flock “children” at this point)
-first year as a flock owner btw.
