I have a trio of African geese; they have a big pen that I put them in for the night but a fox still managed to get in and nearly killed one of my geese. If it wasnt for their loud yelling that woke me up she wouldnt be here today. I woke up ran down the stairs, got my 22 rifle ran out the door and called Evie (my Black and Tan coonhound/ Rottweiler) she was enough to get the fox to start running for safety, luckily the goose was so big and heavy that the fox couldnt get away fast enough so he stopped dragging it by the neck and let it go. The fox got away but hasnt been back, so from what I have seen I would say that geese arent really all that good at protecting themselves from foxes unless they can slip off into a large pond maybe.
