Good afternoon backyard chicken friends! I need your help please. We hatched a baby Gossling and one of the female geese was acting aggressive toward it, so we’ve brought it inside to care for it. It was doing fantastic the first five days. As of early this morning, it slowed down a bit and it’s stool had a little bit of a foaminess to it. Any suggestions?

I will add that I was feeding it layer. I didn’t realize that that is a no-no! It’s now on chick starter as of about 2 hours ago. I’ve since ordered waterfowl feed. Would love your help before things get worse 🙏💛🪿

Thank you!!☺️

Just make sure the little one gets plenty of fluids, you can even give them watermelon to boost their liquids intake to help the kidneys get rid of any excess calcium that may be in there.

Another possibility is coccidia, that can cause foamy bubbly droppings, if that’s the case you could put it on corid or if you have any Toltrazuril it will clear it up.

Thank you. I changed out the red light to a ceramic light and put probiotics and drench in the water. It’s doing better over the last hour. Not 100% but definitely better. Most recent stool is more formed.
