So as I've mentioned somewhere in an introduction topic, we've got two graylag goslings that we found without parents. We've got a home set up for them if they want it, but we're pretty much hoping they can still be set free when they're all grown. So we're trying to introduce them to an area where they could live, find food, and fly. Fortunately, most of these things the goslings understand and do out of instinct.

So by now they're about 2 months old, and flying practice is in full swing! Unlike with tame geese we really want them to be kings (queens?) of the air. It's so amazing to see them grow in their skills!

In the following videos you can see the first times that our biggest gosling managed to fly at around 1 meter high (he'd managed like 5 cm two days before). The other one was still stuck at around 10 cm hahah, but I'm sure that's gonna be different today.

(Oh btw they live in our backyard, but don't have enough space for flying practice there. So we've been bringing them to the flood fields / river side for weeks already, to get used to that environment (it's where many wild geese live in our country), learn to swim in a big-ass river, find food, etc. Obviously this is also *the* place for flying practice, since they've got room to really run.)
