goslings on pine shavings?

i have a few due to hatch within the next few days .. last year i kept them on towels for the first week , than on shavings .... just wondering if it's okay to put them on shavings immediately (trying to save myself some time) ...

Make sure it's not the fine like they sell at TSC, if goslings are anything like ducklings they have to put anything in their mouths and eating that fine shaving [like saw dust] wouldn't be good for them. I used pine shaving with paper towels spread over top for the first week with ducklings. and alot of folks use the rubber shelf liner for traction. and towels too.

dont use paper towels or newspaper. Both are far too slippery for good traction. Pelleted stall bedding works wonderfully. we place rubber shelf liner over it for the first three days.
