We were at a local feed store last Sat. and there one one tiny ducking all by itself - it's a crested duck as we have an adult one outside, along with 2 pekin and one drake mallard...
I got the crested baby and knew it does not do good alone...went to TSC and you had to buy at least two ducklings...so now we have 3 of them..
So I know what that one is...one appears to be mallard or could be rouen - black/yellow with black striping across the eyes...not sure on sex yet but has a flipped up tail....
The other one is total dusty black...black bill and black feet..no other color...I have searched all over and have no clue what this one is....thought perhaps a runner but...he does not stretch out his neck all the time or stand totally erect unless looking at me...
These all have just down on them, as they are young...
so anyone have a guess on what the dusty black one could be? He is a bit larger than the mallard one and both are larger than the crested, but I think that one was so very young...
They are in a huge tub inside the house until they are safe to go outside...just want to learn what that one is so I can study about it. They are fun!
